Summer of 2025, I joined the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) on Lake Simcoe to see firsthand the spread of water soldier, an invasive plant with razor-sharp leaves that chokes native species, harms fish, and blocks recreation.

First detected in Cook’s Bay in 2024, the infestation is growing. OFAH has proven that early action works, but large-scale treatment is costly—and the federal Liberal government has failed to act.

I am working with my Conservative colleagues to demand renewed federal support for Lake Simcoe. Read my petition below and add you voice.

As water soldier continues to threaten Lake Simcoe, I met with the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority this summer to learn firsthand about the health of the Lake and the challenges facing this vital ecosystem. 

I spoke with Dr. Ginn, known as the "Lake Doctor," who shared his expertise on the Lake's environmental health. Understanding the health of Lake Simcoe is critical to protecting our communities, our fisheries, and the natural environment for generations to come.
